Projects

The Clockwork Heart
/ Art Director & 3D Animator

JULY 2017 - DECEMBER 2017, AIE, World Trade Centre, Melbourne
(Student Project)

The Clockwork Heart is a steampunk 3D computer animated film produced by 6 students at The Academy of Interactive Entertainment. The entire project from writing/board, modelling and animation through to rendering took  a semester. It was nominated for 'Best Animation' in the Student World Awards and screened at Melbourne International Animation Festival 2018.

In this project, I worked closely with the Director and team to facilitate the creative vision of the film,  give it life and visual identity. To achieve this, we took influence from Art movements such as Art Nouveau, film themes from Tim Burton and from the science fantasy sub genre, steam punk.

In my role as the Art Director I
  • Successfully worked as a team to deliver a student short film under a fast paced, industry standard production pipeline replication
  • Oversaw the artistic and stylistic choices with the Director
  • Cinematography
  • Used Shotgun in it’s base form for project management and weekly presentations

In this project as an animator I
  • I produced high qaulity animated shots quickly and within schedule
  • Communicated and sought critical feedback for improvement of each shot

Throughout this project I also assisted  in other parts of the pipeline such as environment modelling, compositing, colour correcting and rendering.
